In case an attacker feeds tiny packets completely out of order, tcp_collapse_ofo_queue() might scan the whole rb-tree, performing expensive copies, but not changing socket memory usage at all. 1) Do not attempt to collapse tiny skbs. 2) Add logic to exit early when too many tiny skbs are detected. We prefer not doing aggressive collapsing (which copies packets) for pathological flows, and revert to tcp_prune_ofo_queue() which will be less expensive. In the future, we might add the possibility of terminating flows that are proven to be malicious. Linux kernel

There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can
be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
See Documentation/00-INDEX for a list of what is contained in each file.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
