ac85174403 powerpc: Remove -Wattribute-alias pragmas
With SYSCALL_DEFINEx() disabling -Wattribute-alias generically, there's
no need to duplicate that for PowerPC syscalls.

This reverts commit 4155203739 ("powerpc: fix build failure by
disabling attribute-alias warning in pci_32") and commit 2479bfc9bc
("powerpc: Fix build by disabling attribute-alias warning for
SYSCALL_DEFINEx").

2479bfc9bc powerpc: Fix build by disabling attribute-alias warning for SYSCALL_DEFINEx
GCC 8.1 emits warnings such as the following. As arch/powerpc code is
built with -Werror, this breaks the build with GCC 8.1.

  In file included from arch/powerpc/kernel/pci_64.c:23:
  ./include/linux/syscalls.h:233:18: error: 'sys_pciconfig_iobase' alias
between functions of incompatible types 'long int(long int, long
unsigned int, long unsigned int)' and 'long int(long int, long int,
  long int)' [-Werror=attribute-alias]
    asmlinkage long sys##name(__MAP(x,__SC_DECL,__VA_ARGS__)) \
                    ^~~
./include/linux/syscalls.h:222:2: note: in expansion of macro '__SYSCALL_DEFINEx'
    __SYSCALL_DEFINEx(x, sname, __VA_ARGS__)

This patch inhibits those warnings.

4608f06453 Merge git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/davem/sparc-next
Pull sparc updates from David Miller:

 1) Add support for ADI (Application Data Integrity) found in more
recent sparc64 cpus. Essentially this is keyed based access to
virtual memory, and if the key encoded in the virual address is
    wrong you get a trap.

The mm changes were reviewed by Andrew Morton and others.

    Work by Khalid Aziz.

 2) Validate DAX completion index range properly, from Rob Gardner.

 3) Add proper Kconfig deps for DAX driver. From Guenter Roeck.

* git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/davem/sparc-next:
sparc64: Make atomic_xchg() an inline function rather than a macro.
sparc64: Properly range check DAX completion index
sparc: Make auxiliary vectors for ADI available on 32-bit as well
sparc64: Oracle DAX driver depends on SPARC64
sparc64: Update signal delivery to use new helper functions
sparc64: Add support for ADI (Application Data Integrity)

a90f590a1b mm: add ksys_mmap_pgoff() helper; remove in-kernel calls to sys_mmap_pgoff()
Using this helper allows us to avoid the in-kernel calls to the
sys_mmap_pgoff() syscall. The ksys_ prefix denotes that this function is
meant as a drop-in replacement for the syscall. In particular, it uses the
same calling convention as sys_mmap_pgoff().

This patch is part of a series which removes in-kernel calls to syscalls.
On this basis, the syscall entry path can be streamlined. For details, see

9d5b7c956b mm: add ksys_fadvise64_64() helper; remove in-kernel call to sys_fadvise64_64()
Using the ksys_fadvise64_64() helper allows us to avoid the in-kernel
calls to the sys_fadvise64_64() syscall. The ksys_ prefix denotes that
this function is meant as a drop-in replacement for the syscall. In
particular, it uses the same calling convention as ksys_fadvise64_64().

Some compat stubs called sys_fadvise64(), which then just passed through
the arguments to sys_fadvise64_64(). Get rid of this indirection, and call
ksys_fadvise64_64() directly.

This patch is part of a series which removes in-kernel calls to syscalls.
On this basis, the syscall entry path can be streamlined. For details, see

9035cf9a97 mm: Add address parameter to arch_validate_prot()
A protection flag may not be valid across entire address space and
hence arch_validate_prot() might need the address a protection bit is
being set on to ensure it is a valid protection flag. For example, sparc
processors support memory corruption detection (as part of ADI feature)
flag on memory addresses mapped on to physical RAM but not on PFN mapped
pages or addresses mapped on to devices. This patch adds address to the
parameters being passed to arch_validate_prot() so protection bits can
be validated in the relevant context.

9c355917fc powerpc/tracing: Allow tracing of mmap syscalls
Currently sys_mmap() and sys_mmap2() (32-bit only), are not visible to the
syscall tracing machinery. This means users are not able to see the execution of
mmap() syscalls using the syscall tracer.

Fix that by using SYSCALL_DEFINE6 for sys_mmap() and sys_mmap2() so that the
meta-data associated with these syscalls is visible to the syscall tracer.

A side-effect of this change is that the return type has changed from unsigned
long to long. However this should have no effect, the only code in the kernel
which uses the result of these syscalls is in the syscall return path, which is
written in asm and treats the result as unsigned regardless.

Example output:
  cat-3399 [001] .... 196.542410: sys_mmap(addr: 7fff922a0000, len: 20000, prot: 3, flags: 812, fd: 3, offset: 1b0000)

529d235a0e powerpc: Add a proper syscall for switching endianness
We currently have a "special" syscall for switching endianness. This is
syscall number 0x1ebe, which is handled explicitly in the 64-bit syscall
exception entry.

That has a few problems, firstly the syscall number is outside of the
usual range, which confuses various tools. For example strace doesn't
recognise the syscall at all.

Secondly it's handled explicitly as a special case in the syscall
exception entry, which is complicated enough without it.

As a first step toward removing the special syscall, we need to add a
regular syscall that implements the same functionality.

The logic is simple, it simply toggles the MSR_LE bit in the userspace
MSR. This is the same as the special syscall, with the caveat that the
special syscall clobbers fewer registers.

This version clobbers r9-r12, XER, CTR, and CR0-1,5-7.

a4bcbe6a41 powerpc: Remove old compile time disabled syscall tracing code
We have code to do syscall tracing which is disabled at compile time by
default. It's not been touched since the dawn of time (ie. v2.6.12).

There are now better ways to do syscall tracing, ie. using the
raw_syscall, or syscall tracepoints.

For the specific case of tracing syscalls at boot on a system that
doesn't get to userspace, you can boot with:

  trace_event=syscalls tp_printk=on

Which will trace syscalls from boot, and echo all output to the console.

c141611fb1 powerpc: Delete non-required instances of include <linux/init.h>
None of these files are actually using any __init type directives
and hence don't need to include <linux/init.h>. Most are just a
left over from __devinit and __cpuinit removal, or simply due to
code getting copied from one driver to the next.

The one instance where we add an include for init.h covers off
a case where that file was implicitly getting it from another
header which itself didn't need it.

e28cbf2293 improve sys_newuname() for compat architectures

baed7fc9b5 Add generic sys_ipc wrapper
Add a generic implementation of the ipc demultiplexer syscall. Except for
s390 and sparc64 all implementations of the sys_ipc are nearly identical.

There are slight differences in the types of the parameters, where mips
and powerpc as the only 64-bit architectures with sys_ipc use unsigned
long for the "third" argument as it gets casted to a pointer later, while
it traditionally is an "int" like most other paramters. frv goes even
further and uses unsigned long for all parameters execept for "ptr" which
is a pointer type everywhere. The change from int to unsigned long for
"third" and back to "int" for the others on frv should be fine due to the
in-register calling conventions for syscalls (we already had a similar
issue with the generic sys_ptrace), but I'd prefer to have the arch
maintainers looks over this in details.

Except for that h8300, m68k and m68knommu lack an impplementation of the
semtimedop sub call which this patch adds, and various architectures have
gets used - at least on i386 it seems superflous as the compat code on
x86-64 and ia64 doesn't even bother to implement it.

ef3d3246a0 powerpc/mm: Add Strong Access Ordering support
Allow an application to enable Strong Access Ordering on specific pages of
memory on Power 7 hardware. Currently, power has a weaker memory model than
x86. Implementing a stronger memory model allows an emulator to more
efficiently translate x86 code into power code, resulting in faster code
execution.

On Power 7 hardware, storing 0b1110 in the WIMG bits of the hpte enables
strong access ordering mode for the memory page. This patchset allows a
user to specify which pages are thus enabled by passing a new protection
bit through mmap() and mprotect(). I have defined PROT_SAO to be 0x10.

d35c7b0e54 unified (weak) sys_pipe implementation
This replaces the duplicated arch-specific versions of "sys_pipe()" with
one unified implementation. This removes almost 250 lines of duplicated
code.

It's marked __weak, so that *if* an architecture wants to override the
default implementation it can do so by simply having its own replacement
version, since many architectures use alternate calling conventions for
the 'pipe()' system call for legacy reasons (ie traditional UNIX
implementations often return the two file descriptors in registers)

I still haven't changed the cris version even though Linus says the BKL
isn't needed. The arch maintainer can easily do it if there are really
no obstacles.

e63340ae6b header cleaning: don't include smp_lock.h when not used
Remove includes of <linux/smp_lock.h> where it is not used/needed.
Suggested by Al Viro.

Builds cleanly on x86_64, i386, alpha, ia64, powerpc, sparc,
sparc64, and arm (all 59 defconfigs).

e9ff3990f0 [PATCH] namespaces: utsname: switch to using uts namespaces
Replace references to system_utsname to the per-process uts namespace
where appropriate. This includes things like uname.

Changes: Per Eric Biederman's comments, use the per-process uts namespace
for ELF_PLATFORM, sunrpc, and parts of net/ipv4/ipconfig.c

a7f31841a4 [PATCH] powerpc: declare arch syscalls in <asm/syscalls.h>
powerpc currently declares some of its own system calls
in <asm/unistd.h>, but not all of them. That place also
contains remainders of the now almost unused kernel syscall
hack.

 - Add a new <asm/syscalls.h> with clean declarations
 - Include that file from every source that implements one
   of these
 - Get rid of old declarations in <asm/unistd.h>

This patch is required as a base for implementing system
calls from an SPU, but also makes sense as a general
cleanup.

002ec58eb5 [PATCH] ppc64: fix time syscall
ppc64 has its own version of sys_time. It looks pretty scary, touching
a whole bunch of variables without any locking or memory ordering.

In fact, a recent bugreport has shown it can actually go backwards. Time
to remove it and just use the generic sys_time, which is implemented on
top of do_gettimeofday.

05d84681ab [PATCH] powerpc: Fix mmap returning 64 bit addresses
The merge of syscalls.c & sys_ppc32.c (30286ef6e0)
broke mmap, if the mmap returned a 64 bit address.

do_mmap2 was taking the return value from do_mmap_pgoff (an unsigned long), and
storing it in an int, before returning it to sys_mmap as an unsigned long. So
we were losing the high bits of the address.

You would have thought the compiler could catch this for us ...

77f543cb46 powerpc: Fix various compile errors with ARCH=ppc, ppc64 and powerpc
This makes ppc use the syscalls.c from arch/powerpc/kernel, exports
copy_and_flush from head_32.S for use by prom_init.c (ARCH=powerpc),
and consolidates the sys_fadvise64_64 implementations for 32-bit.
