With Switchtec hardware it's impossible to get the alignment parameters for a peer's memory window until the peer's driver has configured its windows. Strictly speaking, the link doesn't have to be up for this, but the link being up is the only way the client can tell that the other side has been configured. This patch converts ntb_transport and ntb_perf to use this function after the link goes up. This simplifies these clients slightly because they no longer have to store the alignment parameters. It also tweaks ntb_tool so that peer_mw_trans will print zero if it is run before the link goes up. Linux kernel ============ This file was moved to Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst Please notice that there are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or ``make pdfdocs``. There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory, several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation. See Documentation/00-INDEX for a list of what is contained in each file. Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
