If you export a subdirectory of a filesystem, a READDIRPLUS on the root of that export will return the filehandle of the parent with the ".." entry. The filehandle is optional, so let's just not return the filehandle for ".." if we're at the root of an export. Note that once the client learns one filehandle outside of the export, they can trivially access the rest of the export using further lookups. However, it is also not very difficult to guess filehandles outside of the export. So exporting a subdirectory of a filesystem should considered equivalent to providing access to the entire filesystem. To avoid confusion, we recommend only exporting entire filesystems. Linux kernel
============
There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can
be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
